Lt. General Vasyl Krutov
Lt. General Vasyl Krutov has had a distinguished career in the armed forces of Ukraine and has made vital contributions to the field of nonstate security as well. He proposed innovative solutions to the problems of state and national security of Ukraine that contributed to the development of the constitutional state.
As head of the Special Forces unit of the Security Service of Ukraine, Gen. Krutov conducted hundreds of combat operations and special field events. He held the positions of First Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine and of First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The President of Ukraine awarded him with the order “For Bravery” as well as numerous other awards.
After his retirement, Dr. Krutov founded the International Anti-Terror Unity, a public organization that specializes in countering terrorism and building a national security model that balances both state and nongovernmental components. The IAU is a member of the Forum of NGOs of the Council of Europe.
Dr. Krutov is currently Vice President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. He has developed principles and systems for corporate security implemented in over 40 enterprises associated with this organization.
Dr. Krutov has published more than 100 scientific and 220 academic works on national and state security, international terrorism, maritime piracy, and youth education. He is a Professor and Doctor of Law, an Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, and a recipient of the Excellence in Education Award of Ukraine.
Gen. Krutov is Vice President of Expansion in the
Global Union of Scientists for Peace.
